Jacobsen

The holidays came and went and I neglected to even mention that Jacobsen celebrated a birthday. Jacobsen turned 11 years old on December 27th. I feel bad that he was born so close to the Christmas holiday, honestly after Christmas the last thing I want to do is celebrate a birthday. But each year we do and are so grateful to have Jacobsen in our family. He is truly a blessing. He has changed and grown up so much, he acts like a teenager. He spends too much time playing ps2, guitar hero and on the computer. He likes late nights and movies that are more adult these days. I watch him texting his friends and uncles, in deep conversation about sports and fantasy NBA league transactions and doing things that the "big kids" do and know he is growing up. He is spending more time in front of the mirror, combing his mane of hair and wearing jeans (these are all huge milestones for him). I am proud of him and his efforts at school, scouts and working with his sport teams. He is a good big brother most of the time and Curen especially wants to be like him. All too often Curen will change his clothes into a jersey or something to look more like Jake that day. Jake enjoys all sports, the Denver Broncos, Utah Jazz, Dance Dance Revolution, any game of any kind, and of course his BYU cougars. He has great friends, he spends a lot of time hanging out with his cousin Austin, it has been so fun to have daily interaction with Lane and Melanie and their family. His friend Jacob and he have been in the same school class since kindergarten. They shoot hoops together and play dodge ball and football in the basement. They love to be outside and off track is a constant party with friends and cousins so close. He enjoys life, especially if it does not include chores, or constant reminders about reading and homework. I hope he would say he has a good life. Jacobsen enjoy being eleven and have a happy year.
